Superstar Mahesh Babu’s “1-Nenokkadine” and Ram Charan’s are the two biggies that stood for the Pongal Race this year. It is Mahesh Babu, who has first set the Box Office on fire with “1-Nenokkadine” on January 10th. Though the film received mixed reports initially, negative talk is now slowly bouncing back with positive critical appreciations. The film has lifted the technical standards of Telugu Cinema to the top notch. “1-Nenokkadine” is bagging huge overseas collections even in the heavy snow storm season. Mahesh turned to be the Sankranthi Star with “Okkadu”, latter on he carried his success track forward with Business man and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.
Ram Charan has got huge fan base in Tollywood and has got a unique record in Tollywood with three of his movies in 40 + Crores Club. He has unleashed his box office power with ‘Racha’ , an ordinary flick and became a bankable star. Ram Charan has recently attained the tag of Sankranthi Star with “Naayak”, the previous year and proves again to be so with his recent release “Yevadu”. Positive reviews and reports for “Yevadu”, right from the day one (January 12th) , has given a chance to lift advantage over “1-Nenokkadine”.
However, both films are running successfully with houseful collections all over with the holiday affect. We should look further into which film stands prime in overall collections.
